And just like that …

And just like that
turned to stone.
rusting the cogs

A surgeon
my skull’s shell,
the trickling

As if a wind-up toy,
is slowly wound,
jolting thigh,

flinging arm
My fingers,
to move alone,

flapping
Upon
my violin

half my body
Seeping blood
of my brain.

jimmies open
sears shut
leak.

my left side
first movements:
shoulder

about as a whirligig.
refusing
are a flock of birds

in unison.
the shelf.
gathers dust.
