HbA1c targets for young people not specified: In the position statement “Change of HbA1c reporting to the new SI units” in the 4 July 2011 issue of the Journal (Med J Aust 2011; 195: 45-46), HbA1c targets for young people with diabetes were not specified. The following HbA1c target ranges have been added to Boxes 2 and 3, respectively: for children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes, ≤ 58 mmol/mol (≤ 7.5%); for children and adolescents with type 2 diabetes, ≤ 53 mmol/mol (≤ 7.0%).
