Flavia Cicuttini is Head of Rheumatology, Alfred Hospital, and a clinical epidemiologist in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. She has a long history of research in musculoskeletal health. A major focus of her work has been improving the assessment of the health of joints using new methods, such as magnetic resonance imaging. This has enabled a greater understanding of the mechanisms of early joint disease, and opened new approaches to preventing and treating musculoskeletal disease.
