Ms Alex Farrell

Alex FarrellAlex Farrell is a medical student studying at the University of New South Wales. She was the 2018 President and Executive Director of the Australian Medical Students' Association (AMSA), the peak representative body of Australia's 17,000 medical students. In this role, she advocated for medical student’s concerns regarding medical training and youth public health issues. In particular she was a voice for medical students on issues of workforce, mental health, gender equity, and bullying and harassment. She has sat on the Doctors’ Health Service Expert Advisory Committee, the Australian Medical Association Federal Council, and the national ‘Tacking Mental Ill-Health in Medical Students and Doctors’ project Steering Committee. She has also worked with organisations such as the Department of Health, the Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association, the Council of Presidents of Medical Colleges, and the Medical Deans of Australia and New Zealand. Alex was a research student at the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression in 2017.
