To the Editor: Tan et al outline deficiencies in product information documents (PIs) as published in MIMS.1 It needs to be clarified that MIMS Australia is not responsible for the content of PIs — this is specified and approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration in consultation with the sponsoring company. The conclusion by the authors that the “PIs for many prescription products listed . . . do not adequately detail paediatric doses” should not be specifically attributed to MIMS, as all published medicines information that relies on approved PIs will suffer from the same deficiencies.
