MJA instructions for authors

The Medical Journal of Australia (MJA) is the premier forum for information and commentary on clinical medicine and health care published in Australia and is ranked in the top 10% of general medical journals worldwide. In its fifth successive rise, the MJA has reached its highest ever Journal Impact Factor (JIF) of 7.738, according to the 2020 Clarivate Analytics Journal Citation Report.

To achieve this, the MJA publishes original clinical research, reviews and educational articles, together with commentary and informed debate on standards of clinical practice, and on social, ethical, legal and other issues related to health care. The Journal welcomes articles in all these categories from authors in Australia and around the world.

The MJA only publishes references in its e-Journal issues for editorials, research, guideline summaries and reviews. All references are available here at
