MJA Focus documentsMJA Focus documents are collections of selected MJA research articles, editorials, updates and reviews dedicated to a particular topic. Clients (in discussion with the MJA Editor) can select MJA articles that they wish to collect. Authors of the selected papers must give their permission before their papers are reprinted in the new document. Authors may also elect to revise their papers before republishing. At the client's request and/or the Editor's discretion, a bridging article or editorial may be commissioned to improve the continuity or broaden the perspective of the document. Authors of bridging articles are selected and commissioned by the MJA.
MJA Focus publications make useful educational texts for conveying research-focused and state-of-the-art information.
MJA Supplements
MJA Supplements are comprehensive articles (or collections of articles) that deal with a particular medical subject. They are published as separate documents, and are usually circulated with an issue of the MJA.
Supplements may be commissioned for publication in the MJA by organisations and associations seeking to disseminate medical information, research or viewpoints. A prerequisite is that the contents must be original and current. Articles developed as MJA Supplements undergo full editorial processing and scrutiny through peer review.
MJA Practice Essentials Monographs
MJA Monographs are compilations produced from the MJA’s highly regarded “Practice Essentials” series. Monographs contain 10 to 15 articles written by experts in each topic's respective field, and designed specifically to be of practical use for GPs and doctors in everyday clinical practice.
