| Muscle relaxation
- Give an overview of the technique, reinforcing the need for regular
practice if it is to help in coping with stress.
- Instructions:
- Tighten then relax your muscles. Work from your toes
up to your shoulders, head and jaw
- During the tightening phase, focus on the sensation of tightness
- During the relaxation phase, say "let go", while maintaining a
tranquil mental image.
- This process should take about twenty minutes, and should be
rehearsed daily, which may represent a considerable time commitment
for the person who already feels overburdened.
